Nurse Jasveer Kaur Sandhu: Crowned Ms India-Malaysia


A TWENTY-four-year-old nurse was crowned Miss India Malaysia 2013 recently at a ceremony filled with glitz and glamour. Jasveer Kaur Sandhu, from Sabah, won the title at the finals held at the Midlands Convention Centre in Shah Alam.

She took to the stage with confidence and performed two dances in the pageant’s talent segment.

During the question-and-answer session, she stressed that everyone had an important role to play in the community to build a strong and united nation.

International students officer Gaithri Gunasagram, 26, emerged first runner-up while student and freelance model Saberina Bennett, 23, was the second runner-up.

The winner was crowned by Deputy Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Maglin Dennis D’Cruz who was the guest of honour at the event.

A total of 18 contestants from all over Malaysia took part in the finals.

Malaysia will host Miss India Worldwide 2013 that is expected to take place in April.
